![]() Prior to becoming a psychotherapist, I was a carpenter for 20 years. As I was entering the field, I worked at the Pine River Institute where I was a Residential Youth Counsellor for youth 13 to 19 struggling concurrently with addictive behaviours and mental health issues and as a Patient and Family Support Worker at Hospice Georgian Triangle providing group therapy sessions and individual support to patients during their end of life journeys. Since 2013, I have run a private psychotherapy practice first in Toronto and since 2015, in Collingwood working with individuals, couples and groups. I trained at the Toronto Institute for Relational Psychotherapy (TIRP) and I continuously seek to engage in seminars with experts who are moving the field of psychotherapy in fascinating directions (i.e. I am a Relational Psychotherapist informed by Neurobiological and Trauma informed practice. ![]() I am excited to be working with CPYC as I appreciate and am committed to the neurobiologically informed, trauma based relational psychotherapeutic perspective we offer. More recently, as I conclude my MSW studies, I have been studying and practicing equine assisted psychotherapy. With Athena’s I also enjoyed facilitating therapeutic groups on the neurobiology of trauma and its practical applications. During this time, I discovered that the psychotherapy techniques that were most effective were those that took into account emerging understanding of neurobiology to facilitate whole brain integration, Self discovery and authenticity. I am also skilled in group facilitation/education and case management.Īs a social worker, I worked for 2 years as a social worker supporting vulnerable women with advocacy, accessing services, counselling, and court support.įrom 2016-2022, I worked at Athena’s Sexual Assault Counselling and Advocacy Centre where I provided both long term and crisis counselling and psychotherapy to women who had experienced or were experiencing abuse. It builds concentration and promotes a positive way of thinking and living.I am a fully bilingual (English and French) clinical social worker (BSW), and equine assisted psychotherapist with 9 years of direct counselling and psychotherapy experience with people who have experienced abuse and trauma in their lives. ![]() Yoga improves strength and flexibility, works your muscles without causing pain and reduces mental and physical stress. We start and finish promptly so it can become a short and sweet part of your workday. We’ll adapt our sessions to your company’s needs and can teach from 30 minutes upwards. ![]() For our office yoga sessions on chairs, we have specially adapted exercises, so don’t need any yoga mats, yoga chairs or other props (even chairs are optional) and no one needs to get changed out of their normal business attire. ![]() Because it’s easy, convenient and good for you! We love teaching yoga on mats, but if you don’t have a space that’s big enough, there’s a lot we can teach you at your desk! We can work anywhere, so if your meeting rooms are always booked, we can do open-plan office yoga and all you need is an arm’s length of space on each side. ![]()
